Job Description Arcadis is seeking a dedicated Construction Inspector to join our team. This position is based in our El Paso, Texas office supporting projects across the region.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Interact effectively with the Construction Contractor management personnel and crew.
Communicate conditions and field decisions to Owner representative
Review Contractor submittals, requests for information, change order requests, and as-built drawings
Work closely with others team members, along with personnel from utilities, state, local, and federal agencies.
Demonstrate independent and effective problem solving/decision making.
Attend meeting and maintain meeting minutes thoroughly documenting the key elements of a meeting with minimal corrections.
Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's of science degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or geological engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering, or must be registered through a United States' board of engineering as a civil engineer, geotechnical engineer, geological engineer, or construction engineer.
Minimum of four (4) years experience in construction management, field inspection, or construction supervision of civil works projects (earthwork, roads, utilities, infrastructure, paving, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, etc.).
Must possess knowledge and experience in ASTM, ACI, and other miscellaneous construction testing requirements, as well as knowledge in construction inspection procedures, and inspections methodologies, including the use of nuclear gauges, concrete sampling, and construction safety.
Must have advanced verbal and written communication and organizational skills
Must have a minimum of:
Two (2) years experience in earthwork inspection.
Two (2) years experience in site utility installation inspection.
Five (5) years experience in reinforced concrete placement inspection.
Five (5) years experience in wastewater treatment system construction inspection.
Familiarity with wastewater treatment plant instrumentation and controls. Educational familiarity is not applicable; only construction based familiarity is valid.
One (1) year experience with Government Contract inspection.
Must have an up to date confined spaces certification for inspection of structures.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
