Operates cook stoves, bake ovens, grilles, as well as kitchen machines used to mix, slice, peel, and chop food being prepared for cooking or serving.
May operate cash register when directed.

Cleans assigned work station, machines, stove, steam tables, pots, pans, and supply shelves daily.
4.
Conducts daily inventory of food supplies on hand and may order supplies when needed.
Stores food supplies received from vendors in appropriate areas such as dry products on open stock shelves, frozen food items in freezer, and vegetables, etc.

May train staff in food preparation and customer service.

Performs miscellaneous duties of related nature, as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Overtime as needed.
1.
Knowledge of mathematics including weights and measures in order to operate a cash register, inventory food items and complete reports.
2.
Skills in operating kitchen equipment, to include stoves, grilles ovens, slicers and grinders.
3.
Skill in operating cash register.
4.
Ability to prepare and cook full meals, breakfast and lunch.
5.
Ability to communicate orally to interact with co-workers and customers.
6.
Ability to acquire and hold a State of Texas Food Handlers license.
7.
Ability to work in an environment where there are mechanical and electrical hazards.
8.
Ability to stand 100% of the work day.
9.
Ability to lift 30 50 pounds.
10.
Ability to write the English language in order to verify inventories, menus, report and communication with co-workers.
11.
Ability to read the English language in order to understand recipe instructions, verify correctness of food delivery receipts, invoices, and special function sheets.
12.
Knowledge, skills and ability may be demonstrated by 3 years of work experience as a cafeteria chef or institutional cook.
Experience and/or education may be substituted for the above.
