Adelphi is seeking Orientation and Mobility Specialists to provide direct and indirect(consult)support for students with visual impairment that required orientation and mobility services per their IEP for schools in Houston,Texas. The ideal candidates MUST have a ACVREP certification.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree
  • Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals(ACVREP)Certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a school setting or working with minors with different impairments


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect (consult) orientation and mobility support to students with visual impairment
  • Provide orientation and mobility evaluation and re-evaluation support for students in the region
  • Evaluate students progress on an ongoing basis documenting data to be used to update progress
  • Collaborate with the teacher of students with visual impairments to conduct the functional vision assessment as it relates to independent travel
  • Evaluate students progress on an ongoing basis documenting data to be used to update progress reports
  • Other duties as assigned by administration
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
