TRA Certified Surgical Technician The Certified Surgical Technician is responsible for aseptic technique in OR, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day s schedule.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate equipment is available, reviewing permit to confirm procedure, assist in moving and positioning patient, providing assistance throughout the procedure in a variety of surgical techniques.
Available for call on an assigned/ scheduled basis as required by unit need.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum education Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program.
Preferred Education Associates Degree Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy.
Minimum Experience 3 years scurb and/or assisting experience.
Preferred Experience 5 years as surgical technician.
Required Certification/Licensure Certification as a Surgical Technologist CPR-Basic Life Support American Heart Association Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy.
Preferred Certifications/Registration Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
