The TxDOT Human Resources Division is looking for a Human Resource Generalist III based in El Paso, TX.

Our HR Generalist III will spend their day completing a variety of HR duties including helping employees with benefits, processing documents and information, visiting maintenance sections, conducting new employee orientation, managing leave, employee relations, and assisting with programs and projects.
Other responsibilities may include interpreting policy, talent development, training, and delivering presentations.

gov) Position Description Performs and coordinates advanced human resources-related work in the El Paso District.
Facilitates one or more human resources program(s).
May serve as a lead worker for professional, and administrative employees.
Work requires reviewing, preparing, and maintaining confidential information.
Work requires contact with management, employees, retirees, health care providers; and state and federal agencies.
Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives.
Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties:
Enters, maintains, coordinates, and audits data such as applicant, salary, and benefits transactions using a Human Resources Information Management System (PeopleSoft) Coordinates hiring program activities including, but not limited to monitoring and managing job openings, screening employment applications, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring process.
May develop staff through mentorship, internal and external professional development, and one-on-one coaching.
Researches and analyzes sensitive and controversial information in response to Department management requests.
Provides information, answers questions, and advises employees, supervisors, managers, districts, and divisions on human resources policies and procedures via computer, phone, or in person.
Driving to visit sections required.
Coordinates, designs, and conducts employee forums, new employee orientation, annual enrollment, or human resources-related meetings.
Prepares, reviews, and monitors correspondence, reports, forms, and transactions.
Generates and analyzes automated reports regarding human resources activities.
Provides guidance to management on sensitive issues in areas, such as substance abuse, employee discipline, violence prevention, and reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Researches, analyzes, and resolves human resources issues; and provides solutions and recommendations Department management.
Responds to inquiries and complaints regarding human resources policies and procedures.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.
Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
4 years human resources-related experience.
(Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent).
Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license.
This position requires driving a state vehicle.
