EKG Technician Per Diem Days
Job DescriptionSummary The EKG Technician EKG procedures on adult and pediatric patients.
EKG testing plays a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
As the EKG Technician acquires expertise in the performance of test procedures, he/she will also accept responsibility and accountability for performing duties independently in the absence of management.
Interaction with referring physicians and interpreting physicians requires a demonstrable degree of good communication skills.
By definition the EKG Tech must be able to operate independently and to completion.
The EKG Tech must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to interact with various ages of clients served in the course and scope of his/her job duties.
These age populations may include pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
This position does require direct patient care and will be required to interface with family members and the public at-large.
Assessment of the skills necessary to communicate with various age populations is addressed on the corresponding competency assessment.
Qualifications Job Requirements Minimum Education :
High School or GED Complete additional.
edu training for EKG during orientation period Required Licenses/Certifications Current BLS for health care providers Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English Ability to learn and integrate technical aspects of the EKG department as a whole Ability to make quick and accurate decisions under stress and emergency situations Ability to use computers (i.
e.
Microsoft Office, EKG Database software) Experience Required:
HUC level of experience preferred.
