Assistant Maintenance Manager

El Paso, TX El Paso, TX Full-time Full-time Up to $55,000 a year Up to $55,000 a year 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago Position Responsibilities The Maintenance Manager provides information to direct others and serve as achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines, codes and regulations.
Incumbent also supervises and directs assigned staff.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision from the Executive VP & COO, manages and implement safety rules and regulations in the shop.
Incumbent is to maintain shop and ensures it is compliant with all rules and governing regulations.
Ensures employees receive appropriate safety training and that they follow safety guidelines.
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and equipment assigned to El Paso, San Antonio, and San Diego yards.
Monitors the preventative maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program to provide maintenance by manufacturer's specifications.
Maintains a complete inventory system through recording of all expenditures and income of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, fuel, repair parts, supplies, shop equipment etc.
Implements and maintains a mechanic training and certification program to provide needed technical skills for mechanics in repair of equipment.
Schedule and execute monthly training for staff.
Supervises all shop employees; trains, evaluates and disciplines employees.
Develop proper staffing, interview and hire new employees.
Assists in the development of the budget to include a review of past year expenses and income; adjusts and administers all purchases, including parts, tools, office supplies.
Examines reports for accuracy on each vehicle and piece of equipment repaired.
Keeps maintenance and repair records; ensures preventive maintenance is conducted properly.
Oversee ordering of repair parts, checks all repair work performed in shop for completeness performs other related duties as required.
Ensures shop and surrounding area is reasonably clean and free from safety hazards.
Computer Skills Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook - Knowledge of McLeod software is a plus.
Experience/Familiarity using Web based programs.
Research and acquire accurate, industry specific information from the internet for use in training and maintaining compliance.
Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in related area preferred.
Experience Requirements At least 5 years in job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility.

Physical Requirements Incumbent should be able to lift up to 25 pounds without needed assistance.
